Getting
Product Information
Detailed information may be captured and retained on products and services your business carries. This information is very useful when conducting phone solicitation or response, and even when talking with customers in person. It is relatively easy to capture or create. Some of your suppliers will even "fax on demand" product specification sheets.
To get the information, use the various Lookup Product choices from the LookUp Main Menu selection. These are:

All three choices lead to the menu at right:
If you choose 1) Entering Stock Number, you may
type in any stock number and the resulting screen will show the status (availability, quantity in stock, location) of that item. If you choose 40 Pick from List - Vendors, you will be presented with a scrolling list of vendors. In addition the list includes two additional choices; one, At Store Stock, will be the same for every business, the second will be the name of your business. These choices will tell whether a particular stock item is available in your store (the At Store Stock choice) or anywhere within your company (the company name choice). Choosing a vendor name will allow you to review their entire assortment. Choosing a specific item within the assortment will show the product specs., as well as the current availability in local inventory.
Choosing 9) Edit Catalog Descriptions, will also lead to a scrolling list of vendors.
To have the detailed product specifications available on line the information must have been captured or entered, and saved.
To save information, refer to the instructions below for your specific equipment configuration.
Typed
Entry:
To enter product information by typing in a memo; Highlight "Add Product Data" on the Stock Edit menu. Then choose the product number to enter info.
Scanned Entry:
To enter a scanned image of a product specification sheet, use your scanner to save the image as a .TIF file. You can reference this file in the memo file field name.
